Part Time Prep Chef
Location: San Marcos, Texas
Part-Time | 12-20 Hours/Week | $18-$20/hr
Daytime Availability (Monday - Friday) | Growth Opportunity into Event Chef Role (week day and weekends)
Contract position for first 90 days

Aspiring Event Chef: You’re eager to grow into a hands-on cooking role at private events.
Adaptable & Curious: You welcome constructive feedback and enjoy learning new techniques and thrive in a dynamic kitchen.
Qualifications & Skills:
✅ 2+ years experience in a professional kitchen (fine dining preferred).
✅ Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency.
✅ Excellent knife skills.
✅ Knowledge of ingredient substitutions and basic culinary techniques.
✅ Food Handlers Mangers Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
✅ Ability to lift 20 lbs and stand for long shifts.
✅ Passion for hospitality and a desire to elevate your culinary skills.

Southern with a French Twist is a culinary gathering company in Central Texas. Our personal and private chef services make gathering effortless, allowing our clients to be a guest at their own table while indulging in fine food and meaningful connection.
We are expanding our team and looking for a detail-oriented Prep Chef who thrives in an organized, fast-paced, and creative kitchen environment. This position will focus on assisting the Executive Sous Chef with ingredient preparation, basic recipes, and kitchen operations while providing a growth path into an Event Chef role for private dinner parties and catering services.
What You’ll Be Doing:
✔️ Prepping ingredients and following recipes for customized meal plans, private dinners, and catering events.
✔️ Supporting the Executive Sous Chef in kitchen organization, inventory management, and ingredient sourcing.
✔️ Ensuring food consistency, quality, and presentation meet our company standards.
✔️ Keeping a clean, well-organized kitchen space, following all food safety protocols.
✔️ Learning from the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef with opportunities to train for hands-on event cooking.
Growth Path: Become an Event Chef
This role offers the opportunity to train into an Event Chef position, allowing you to cook and plate high-end dishes at private dinner parties and catering events.
